Ingredients:
2/3 cup unbleached white flour2/3 cup dark brown sugar1/4 cup finely chopped pecans1 teaspoon cinnamon1/4 teaspoon Cardamom1/4 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon baking powder1 cup finely chopped dates2 egg whites, lightly beaten

| Preheat oven to 350° and lightly oil an 8" square baking pan. Set aside.
Combine all ingredients except eggs; stir well. Add eggs and stir until dry ingredients are moistened.
Spoon batter into prepared baking pan; bake until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean, about 25 minutes. Cool slightly before cutting.
